WHAT: LAS VEGAS, NV — Bobby Khan, a former celebrity car dealer turned political firebrand, has officially announced his candidacy for U.S. Congress in Nevada’s 1st District — and he’s not asking for permission.
Khan made his name in his 20s and 30s by building a multi-million-dollar exotic car business, selling high-end vehicles to celebrities, athletes, and global elites. But success painted a target on his back. After a civil financial dispute spiraled into a federal indictment, Khan found himself the subject of a 10-year legal nightmare — culminating in being placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, despite multiple attempts to surrender.
He was finally arrested in 2020, spending 7½ months in jail under 21-hour lockdown, followed by 32 months on home confinement, and later 8 months in federal prison. In total, Khan endured 48 months under federal control and five years of court battles. Now on probation — he’s fighting back.
“They tried to bury me. I came back stronger. I’m not running despite my past — I’m running because of it,” Khan said. “I’ve lived what millions of Americans are going through — and I’m proof that we can beat the system that was built to break us.”
Khan’s platform includes:
- Zero Taxes for Veterans – If you served this country, you’ve paid enough
- Justice Reform – End prosecutorial abuse, rein in the DOJ, and stop weaponized lawfare
- Zero Taxes on Gambling Winnings – It’s time to stop punishing success
- Fix Social Security – Protect retirees and create baby bonds to build generational wealth
- Housing Reform – Make homes affordable again for working families
- Prison Reform – End recidivism by restoring opportunity and dignity
- Economic Revival – Slash red tape, cut taxes, and empower small businesses, bring manufacturing jobs to Nevada
- Modernize Cash Laws – Raise outdated $10,000 cash reporting limits to $100,000 to reflect today’s economy and protect privacy
COURT KEEPS KHAN ON PROBATION
A recent ruling by a federal judge denied Khan’s motion to end his probation early — effectively limiting his ability to travel freely for campaign purposes. If he wants to visit Washington, D.C., he must give notice and seek permission. Even worse, Khan says he could be sent to prison for meeting President Donald Trump — a fellow convicted felon — under the current terms of his probation unless he gets permission first.
“I won’t let it slow me down. I’m more determined than ever to bring a voice to the people of Nevada. Whatever hoops I have to jump through, I will do it because this means so much to me and our State,” Khan said. “I’m not a threat to the system because of my past. I’m a threat because I’ve already survived it.”
WHY NOW?
“I looked around and saw nothing but weak candidates losing to Democrats over and over again,” Khan added. “I got tired of watching spineless Republicans beg for approval. So, I rolled up my sleeves and decided to run myself.”
“Most candidates hide their skeletons. I embrace mine. That makes me harder to beat — because I’m not running to be accepted by the establishment. I’m running to blow it wide open. Fighting for Nevada is a piece of cake compared to what I’ve already survived.”
